Para-hearth II

  • Year: 2019 – 18

Medium: Used umbrellas, recycled bicycle tires

    Dimensions: 3’ x 7’ x 4’6’’

  • Along a rocky coast-line, a group gnarled umbrellas lies down as walruses’ bodies under the gray sky. This is the image that 'Para-hearth' builds to speculate about the environmental crisis: a turning point in which, in order to survive, we don’t need a shield from the environment but from ourselves.
